REGENSBERG, Medieval country town
The medieval country town and former center of the western Zurich lowland lies on a rocky spur of the Lägern high above Dielsdorf.
The small town of Regensberg was founded in 1244 by Baron Lütold V of Regensberg. The ancestral castle of the Regensberg family is located on the territory of the municipality of Regensdorf. The decisive factor for the foundation of Regensberg was probably its strategically favorable location. As early as 1302, Lütold VII was forced to sell the town to the Habsburgs, who pledged it to the city of Zurich in 1409..
In 1417 Regensberg finally became the property of Zurich and the seat of a bailiff. In 1443 Regensberg was besieged and conquered by the Confederates during the Old Zurich War. On the occasion of the founding of the Helvetic Republic in 1798, it was annexed to the district of Bülach.
Following the end of the Helvetic Republic in 1803, it became the district capital, but lost this function in 1871 to Dielsdorf, the town that had gained in importance resulting from the construction of the local railroad.

LÄGERN-HOCHWACHT, Viewpoint and mountain restaurant
Lägern", the easternmost foothill of the Faltenjura, is the most prominent elevation in the Zürcher Unterland and can be seen from far away. The Lägern is a popular hiking area and can be approached from all directions, on easy walking trails, but also via the technically demanding ridge trail from Baden. The Lägern also offers varied routes for bikers and horseback riders.
Once you have reached the Lägern-Hochwacht, the viewing platform offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Alps, Zurich and its lake, and the Furt and Limmat valleys to the south. To the north of the Lägern, you can see the Black Forest and, if the visibility is very good, even as far as the Vosges.
Thirsty and hungry excursionists have been entertained on the Lägern-Hochwacht since 1888. First in the Waldschenke and since 1895 in the inn "Zur hohen Wacht". After the forest inn, now extensively renovated and modernized, had been languishing in a dilapidated state for many years, it shines in new splendor since 2020, inviting guests to visit and enjoy this unique location.

BERGWERK BUCHS, former quartz sand mine and restaurant
During excavation work in the 1880s, the then landowner J. Spühler discovered the quartz sand and began to mine it. Quartz sand is the main ingredient for the production of glass. Bülach Glassworks in particular profited from the nearby quarrying area.
Unlike other quartz sand deposits, which were mined by open pit mining, J. Spühler drove tunnels into the mountain in order to be able to mine the sand. This enabled him to continue cultivating his vines, while mining the sand beneath at the same time..
In their spare time and during waiting periods, employees began to carve sculptures into the walls. J. Spühler quickly recognized the business potential resulting from these small works of art. As a result of the growing number of visitors who passed by to see these works, he opened a "summer inn", which soon became a popular travel destination.
Today, guests are still entertained at the cozy «Bergwerk» restaurant and the nearby mine offers guided tours on request.

EMMA-KUNZ-ZENTRUM, Museum and place of power
The Emma Kunz Center is located above the village of Würenlos in an idyllic forest clearing.
Emma Kunz (1892-1963) was a well-known healer and researcher. Thanks to her talent for telepathy and prophecy, as well as her skills as a healer, she achieved great success in the therapy of her patients.

With her strictly geometric, large-format paintings, which she drew with pencil, colored pencil and oil pastels on millimeter ruled paper, she has since achieved world recognition as an artist. Around 40 of her works are exhibited in the museum of the Emma Kunz Center.
The grotto is the actual heart of the Emma Kunz Center. This place of power was discovered by Emma Kunz in 1942. It is a place of power and silence. Numerous biophysical measurements confirm the amazing energy density coming from the earth's interior emitted at this place.
